How to test your site using localhost/vpn routes via Proxy - 2

Do you constantly move from one to another network ?

Your site via proxy doesn't work ?

- No, problem.

Config

edit the configuration file:
vim /etc/squid3/squid.conf

locate line:   TAG: http_access define a variable:

Previously we added
 acl our_networks src 192.168.0.0/24
Now change that to:
acl our_networks src 192.168.3.0/24
that is if you have subnet 3, check ifconfig to see your interface:
$ ifconfig
wlan0     Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
          inet addr:192.168.3.100  Bcast:192.168.3.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:3714352 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:2671820 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:4256463650 (4.2 GB)  TX bytes:540745144 (540.7 MB)

Proxy Restart

finaly restart it:
sudo service squid3 restart
Client:

  • Uncheck Automatically detect settings.
  • Enter: 192.168.3.198 (your address will differ, ifconfig in your servers terminal to get it right ;) )
  • Port number 3128
  • Click OK to finish and close the other window as well.
